UK Medical tribunal is set to hear the case of Dr Obiyo Nwigwe who was accused of sexual penetration of a child under 16 and using a carriage service to send inappropriate communication between May and July 2020. The hearing will also focus on the fact that Dr. Nwigwe did not promptly inform the GMC of the charges.

It is further alleged that on 8 July 2021, at the County Court of Victoria in Australia, Dr Nwigwe was convicted of four counts of sexual penetration of a child under 16.

He was given a sentence of six years and six months and a life reporting period. The above offences would constitute criminal offences if they were committed in England and Wales. The hearing has been set from 03 Jan 2023 to 05 January 2023.
