The UK’s largest holiday park operator, Parkdean Resorts has announced they will be extending their partnership with the Royal Navy and Marines Charity.

The deal is set to see specially selected serving personnel offered break across nineteen parks in 2022 which marks an increase on ten sites that were part of last year’s agreement between both organizations.

Parkdean will provide free accommodation, in addition to entertainment passes and a discount on food and beverage available at restaurants and bars in the park.

The breaks will be awarded, not only as recognition of the Service Person, but also to their families, for the extraordinary sacrifices and support they provide whilst their spouses, partners and loved ones are deployed around the globe, and for families that may have gone or are going through difficult times and where time away may help.

Commitment to the Armed Forces

In total, the holiday offer will amount to 450 holidays, split across seven-night holidays during school holiday periods, plus two- and three-night short breaks between April and September.

The renewed partnership comes as part of Parkdean Resorts’ ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces, which has also seen the company recently partner with the Army Central Fund on a similar scheme.

In 2021, the holiday park operator gifted 75 breaks to the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity for the benefit of serving personnel in the Royal Navy, with beneficiaries across ships, submarines, the Fleet Air Arm, Royal Marines, and Shore Establishment.

In total, 101 adults and 91 children were able to enjoy a free break as part of the partnership.

Armed Forces Covenant

Parkdean is also a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and has already progressed from Bronze Award to Silver Award in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, having signed up earlier this year.

Steve Richards, CEO, Parkdean Resorts, said:

“Our work with the Royal Navy and Royal Marines is a source of tremendous pride for the business and we’re delighted to be able to extend this and offer even more opportunities to support serving personnel. We have huge admiration for the work they do and are very conscious of the huge sacrifices they and their families make. It is a great honour to be able to give back to them and provide these families a holiday.”

Parkdean Resorts is also the headline sponsor of the inaugural Celebrating Forces Families, an awards ceremony that focuses purely on celebrating the valued support of military families. Taking place at the Victory Services Club in London on 29th April, the event will acknowledge and celebrate the resilience, the amazing projects families have undertaken, triumph over adversity and inspiring career paths taken whilst being part of the whole community.

Adrian Bell, CEO, RNRMC, added:

“The RNRMC is delighted that our partnership with Parkdean Resorts is going so well.  We are hugely grateful to Steve and his team for the support they are giving to the Naval Community through this generous offer.  The reward and recognition of the serving and their families who find themselves in challenging circumstances is vitally important and very much appreciated.”
