European instant on-demand delivery leader Gorillas has finalized the acquisition of French delivery pioneer Frichti. The closing of the acquisition comes just over a month after both companies entered into exclusive discussion to join forces to shape the next generation of instant on-demand delivery.

The acquisition sends a strong signal to the European market as Gorillas’ ability of rapidly scaling operations internationally is paired with Frichti’s deep technological and operational expertise.

Frichti delivers fresh groceries, private label products and ready-to-eat meals to over 450 000 customers in 8 key cities in France and Belgium, and is one of the first companies in the young industry to have reached profitable operations. Thanks to this acquisition, Gorillas will further accelerate its path to profitability by focusing on a strong technological infrastructure and excellent operational network.
