Beyond launch a new competition for London-based startups born out of the pandemic to win free space within its flagship beyond Aldgate Tower.

The UK’s entrepreneurial spirit has been on display throughout the pandemic. A record 780,760 new businesses were formed in the UK in 2020, followed by another 771,617 in 2021.

In many instances, these businesses were founded as new opportunities emerged as a result of the extraordinary, unprecedented upheaval Covid-19 caused to businesses and consumers alike.

Furthermore, with millions placed on furlough or made redundant during the first year of the pandemic, many chose to start their own venture instead.

Now, with restrictions removed and a sense of normality of returning, many of London’s fledgling start-ups will be looking for their first workspace. It will be an important step in their growth as they move from bedroom businesses to scaling companies.

beyond’s new competition is designed to support these entrepreneurs. It is offering ten different one-person and two-person offices for free for three months.

Any London-based entrepreneur who has started a new company between March 2020 and March 2022 can apply. But they must be looking for their first rented workspace.

To apply, entrepreneurs must complete a simple form about their business, and submit a short video (under two minutes) explaining how having access to a flexible workspace will support the growth of their venture.

“At beyond, we want to support London-based entrepreneurs who have launched a new startup during the pandemic by providing them with an inspiring workspace and world-class facilities to grow into fully-fledged scaling businesses. Our flexible workspaces exist to foster connectivity and empower human endeavour – this competition will give a major boost to start-ups just finding their feet and we cannot wait to review the entries at the end of April.”
